What I will remember about 4th grade!

What I’ll remember most is, having Mrs. Gerard to warm up my day! Mrs. Zwicker smiling my way! Always a bunch of gym activities. I’ll remember making fabulous projects in art every week. I’ll remember singing along in music. Also I’ll remember reading in library. But most of all, I’ll remember having a great time!

I’m most proud of learning how to do short and long division in a snap, and learning to be a multiplication whiz. How to write in cursive. Memorizing facts like 24-12=24 and 12+12=24. But most of all, I’ve learned to be a better student for middle school!

In Middle School I’m looking forward to having more freedom. Having more projects like working with wood. Having a big bagel race where you run more than a mile! More lunch choices and desert like cookies, ice cream, etc. But most of all… not a lot of homework! Woo!

We just finished our unit of famous NH people I felt like I did pretty good because, it was hard to find information, but it was ok. I remember struggling to find the info because there’s not that much out there for Lincoln Peirce. The most challenging part was writing the report and the timeline, etc. I was most proud of my poster and my report. The wax museum wasn’t as bad as I thought, because I saw friendly faces. Try to be in a wax museum or watch one , their very interesting to watch, you’ll enjoy. Lincoln Peirce Report

LINCOLN PEIRCES BIOGRAPHY
 By Devon Wasiewski
You’ve heard of Big Nate right? If you do, you’ll be very pleased to read my section about Lincoln Peirce, the author’s young life. He was born on October 23rd, 1963. Instead of being born in NH, he was born in Iowa, but lived in New Hampshire. Right Now he is 54. He has 2 kids. He moved to Main in 1992 and is still there living happily. You know that now, you want to know about his school adventures? Be my guest. As he was growing up he still loved making comics but we’ll get to that later, his school life is interesting! He made up a comic in the school newspaper call “Third Floor”. Peirce went to the Colby College in Maine. He graduated at the Brooklyn College. See it’s fascinating to read about someone’s school life, but do you want to hear about is other jobs, and why he was sued? Read on…! So you wonder “Why is he so famous?” I’ll tell you! He’s a famous cartoonist. He’s famous for the book series Big Nate. He started making Big Nate books in 1991, a long time ago! Lincoln also does some animation work. He’s famous yes, but do you want to know about other jobs he had when he wasn’t famous? Do it! Lincoln has things that keeps him writing, guess what one is? You. You’ve heard of Good Morning America or G.M.A. right? We’ll he’s been on it! Big Nate was the New York Times best seller before! Lincoln is so glad people are loving Big Nate. Were done with the slightly boring stuff, now were going on to the wonderful stuff! Everybody’s life is surprising but in different ways. He’s hard at work with his 8th book in Big Nate. Lincoln made up characters for his comics in 5th grade and up! He did animated skits for Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, you’ve heard of them right? Lincoln met his Cartoonist idol, Charles Schulz. His favorite rejected comic of his is Action Cat, a cat that gets hit by cars. Now were at the end, I think Lincoln Peirce is a guy that kept trying to be a cartoonist, and because he kept trying to be one, he now is. But don’t worry, someday someone could write a Biography about you too you know!

Why You Should Recycle Cardboard

Some People just shove cardboard down the trash, is that you?
If it is you, listen how this is ruining our world!
Most Cardboard waste comes from big companies so reduce how much you buy.
Cardboard packaging[DW1]  is used on 90% of the products in the U.S.
Recycled cardboard takes only 75% of the energy to make new cardboard.
Making recycled cardboard saves 24% of energy needed to make brand new cardboard. Each step to make cardboard sends bad gasses into the air. You depressed? Well good, here’s why you’re going to recycle cardboard.
You can recycle cardboard so do it! Each ton of cardboard you recycle saves 9 cubic landfill space and 46 gallons of oil. Cardboard is safe because it has no toxic chemicals, so it’s safe to handle. If you don’t recycle cardboard, it could pollute water, kill animals, and do other alarming stuff. If you don’t recycle Ok, not believing me? Listen to these reasons to help you understand what you save when you recycle, If you don’t we’ll be walking on trash!
Now you want to help? OK here’s some ways you can reuse cardboard at their house, so you’re not a   cardboard waster.
So you get cardboard, but don’t know what to do with it? Here’s some ideas so you can help! When you get a package reuse it and send it to someone else. Use cardboard as a barrier on the floor for paint, toddler food throwing skills, etc. Store your toys in it instead of buying a fancy container to save money. When you have to move heavy furniture put cardboard underneath so you don’t ruin your floor. Play pretend with cardboard, like make monsters, pet houses, etc. So you don’t think I’m helping?! OK I’ll explain how I help!
Maybe you should use my ways of telling people to recycle cardboard and do these things to keep out world healthy. When I get cardboard I make mini cities out of them! I paint pictures but I put cardboard as a barrier between the table and the paint. I draw on cardboard to save paper. I’ll wrap Christmas presents in them to save money. And I told people to recycle cardboard, like I’m doing to you! Your turn is done. Now it’s time you hear what I think, my voice…
Since you’re here I’ll tell you my opinion, so you’ll change. Now I know some of you won’t do it but LISTEN! You see cardboard outside right? If you do pick it up for that person. So please recycle anything that can be recycled! The world isn’t forever long, it can’t go on like this. Your mine, and the world’s only hope.
